1 Basic Concepts & Terminology (मूल शब्दावली) 🛍️
🛒 Cost Price (C.P.)
The total cost incurred to purchase or manufacture an article, including transportation & repair costs.
📌 Base for all Profit & Loss calculations
💰 Selling Price (S.P.)
The final amount received from the buyer when an article is sold.
📌 SP > CP = Profit | SP < CP = Loss
🏷️ Marked Price (M.P.)
The printed price or Maximum Retail Price (MRP) labeled on the article.
📌 Discount is calculated on Marked Price
2 Golden Rule of Profit & Loss
📌 Baseline Principle (मूल सिद्धांत)
🔥 Remember: CP = 100%
Cost Price (C.P.) is ALWAYS considered as 100% in baseline calculations. Profit increases the percentage above 100%, while Loss decreases it below 100%.
• 20% Profit ➔ Selling Price (S.P.) = 120% of C.P.
• 15% Loss ➔ Selling Price (S.P.) = 85% of C.P.

🟢 Easy
A. ₹8,250 B. ₹8,500 C. ₹8,000 D. ₹8,200
Answer & Solution देखें
Answer: A (₹8,250)

👉 % का अंतर = 8% − (−16%) = 24% = ₹660 ⇒ CP = 660 / 0.24 = ₹2,750
SP = 3080 पर Profit = 3080 − 2750 = 330
Profit% = (330 / 2750) × 100 = 12%

🔴 Advanced
A. 90 percentage B. 60 percentage C. 80 percentage D. 70 percentage
Answer & Solution देखें
Answer: B (60 percentage)
👉 कुल CP = 80 × 80 = ₹6,400. Target SP (20% profit) = 6400 × 1.2 = ₹7,680
SP (20% loss) = 40 × 80 × 0.8 = ₹2,560
Profit% = [(5120 − 3200) / 3200] × 100 = 60%
